The Mighty Aquarian's Writing Nook

About the Author
When not going by the non de plume The Mighty Aquarian, I'm usually called Mom, Grandma or Kristen Willms. I answer to all of these.
I have been writing fiction, nonfiction and poetry for over 30 years. I maintain a blog, Random Thoughts of the Mighty Aquarian, that I started in 2007. My work can also be seen on HubPages. And for those who wish to enjoy their literature in a audio/visual format, there is my YouTube channel.
I am a mother of two amazing adult kids, a grandmother of the most adorable girl in all the world, and adopted mom of my furry baby, (the black & white female cat plastered all over this site). My family is my favorite topic of my nonfiction.
I am a proud alumna of Alexandria Senior High in Louisiana (Go Trojans!) since 1988. I received my Associate of Arts from the school formerly know as Brevard Community College (Go Titans!) in 2013. I graduated with a B.A. in English-Creative Writing December 2015 from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). I have plans to attend graduate school, where the mascot will probably be warrior themed, if my current pattern holds.
I am a volunteer with Emergency Service of the American Red Cross since 2002. In my time with the organization, I have worked as part of the relief efforts of the 2004 hurricane season, chapter support for Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, and have taught CPR, First Aid, Disease Prevention and HIV/AIDS Education courses. Currently for my (paying) day job, I am a Community Association Manager.
I've lived in Florida for about half my life at this point, and before that was bounced all over the country as part of a military family.
Oh, and did I mention that I like cats. A lot.
